Try your luck as a Tenno who's ready to walk a more difficult path than … Warframe. I have thousands of relics(most are vaulted). The Steel Path hasn’t been particularly fun for me, as I’ve had to do most of it solo and found that my normal builds are woefully inadequate. In fact you will by default be able to level weapons, and frames faster there. So what rewards could The Steel Path offer? It’s the same maps, same enemies, same mechanics, they just take more bullets to kill. You have put yourself into a situation that rewards do not matter unless the are purely cosmetic. Unlocking the star chart again for some emotes and ship decorations that nobody will ever see isnt enough incentive for a casual player to want to try the new mode. The rewards are just cosmetics and honestly, only the operator armor is worth it. It gets me to experiment with new guns and I like unlocking the challenges. See where the can of worms starts to spiral. But otherwise, I'll totally ignore Steel Path. When was the last time you did anything in this game with scaling rewards? Steel Path. Please try a little more for comprehending what you read, and a little less trying to tell someone else how they feel. My feedback isn't going to affect you in the least, since anything you normally would get from the node will still be there. I agree they shouldn't nerf it and I don't think they should make anything exclusive to the steel path because that is what will cause people to whine about it because they can't get X, Y, or Z because they cannot complete a level 130 interception mission solo. It’s the normal star chart but everything is way, way tankier. Steel path: around 107.5k kuva in 2 hours. DE cannot reward you with anything meaningful at least not for any significant amount of time. Previously they had +100% +200% Health, +300% Armor, and +300% Shields. In Update 29.5 Deimos: Arcana, we increased the reward for completing a Planet on the Steel Path to 25 Steel Essence. You and I are on the same side when it comes to the issue YOU and only you are arguing about here. Keep in mind, Railjack missions are not included in the Steel Path. You simply fail to see how willingness to forgo reward, out of concern the game mode could be destroyed by difficulty nerfs is not apathy. I am right there with you on wanting something that is more challenging but we all know it will take a lot more than a level bump of literally any amount to create that challenge. They could also extend that to other things like credits, endo, kuva, or even just standard crafting mats like oxium where that mission pretty much only drops that specific resource in large quantities compared to "Normal Mode". Although The Steel Path's rewards aren't exactly enticing, the challenge itself can be enough of a draw for Warframe fans that love to show off their skills. Again I agree that we need more challenging content I don't know why you are arguing that point. Scaling rewards should have been a thing in warframe all along. Because like a certain someone, you are completely off the mark. Basically, trade RNG for a higher difficulty. Then opening up every Syndicate to use vitus essence players could have lower shop costs with their allied syndicates and higher with opposing. < > Showing 1-8 of 8 comments . but I think those should be the exception not the rule. That still doesn't mean I shouldn't get better rewards for doing a level 130 interception than I do for a level 30 interception. Again I agree that we need more challenging content I don't know why you are arguing that point. I agree that steel path is not that challenging content and DE has explicitly stated it is not intended to be that content. ©2020 Digital Extremes Ltd. All rights reserved. You will have access to the Steel Path as long as you have the regular Star Chart cleared, and can play Arbitrations. Like Arbitration’s honors, Teshin has additional rewards for you at a price, including the brand-new operator armor set called Bishamo that is modeled after the Dax—elite warriors who fought alongside Warframes in the war nobody remembers or cares about. This Update will give an Inbox to everyone who had completed a Planet on The Steel Path at the old rate of 2 Steel Essence per Planet and reward them the difference for each Planet completed! If I am off base on then then please explain what would be a reward you would want from any sort of content that is not purely cosmetic? Regular Drone: Requires weapon to damage (not near as much as Liches do though, but affected by loot affecting abilities). Conlcave standing...WHY? So without better rewards than what are present in the normal mode most people will not play the steel path beyond clearing it once. Warframe > General Discussion > Topic Details. What apathy? For me, Rivens are the most fun thing to do/get in the game. The simple fact of the matter here is that there is NOTHING that DE can throw at an MR28-29 that will keep them invested for a significant amount of time out side of adding another new grind like focus to the game and even that will not keep them busy long enough for them to feel like there isn't a content drought. Part of the changes include one to Steel Path. Then do that for Lith, Meso, and Neo Relics as well. The scaling of the base rotation rewards, such as the one in fissures could also be a thing in hard mode. This is why I think there should be a little extra reward. I was enjoying railjack solo before it was destroyed by being made trivial. It just feels bad to play a lvl 150 mission and get the same 1500 credit cache and a vitality that you could get playing the regular game. Jul 17, 2020 @ 11:58pm ... Can't say the reward is worth it. I think The Steel Path is the perfect opportunity for scaling rewards. From what I can tell from your previous post there is nothing other than MAYBE umbra forma. Not unless they double / tripled the # of arcanes you get... DE? I do not know how to make it clear that content is not the same as rewards. They will leave at the first opportunity they will not stay for the C rotation they will complete the starchart to get what ever cosmetic BS there is from it and they will never touch it again. If I have to give up rewards so they don't cry, it's a slog, enemies are a Bulletsponge, it's not fun Boohooo. Don’t waste your Steel Essence on the rest. Steel Essence can be found as a Resource drop from Eximus enemies within The Steel Path. Being a veteran player, Warframe’s Steel Path is not what we wanted when we asked for a challenge. Focus on the topic at hand. @Nichivo Wanting content and wanting appropriate rewards for completing that content are not the same thing. The reward I want most," is the game play not being trivialized to the point of boredom, by DE listening to the ultra casual crowd. " The reason Im writing this is because I believe The Steel Path in its current proposed state is wasted potential, and I don't want to see another mode thrown to the wayside after a few weeks. Honestly If there was just a node that dropped 100-300 oxium on A rotation, 200-600 on B rotation and 600-1200 oxium on C rotation and each resource had a similar node that basically specialized in that resource that would be enough to play steel path on a regular basis. I think you have to wrong impression. Mhblis. Quick idea/brainstorming:"What if you could reset completed steelpath progress to add additional +100 Level and more drops/rewards? The problem once again is if you scale rewards, eventually you reach a point, where others like myself will be able to stay longer then some, and poof you get people complaining. Could also mix in uniques like Wolf, Liches, Warframe Specteres (after junction clears), Remove/limit consumables (honestly I have a huge problem with consumables in general, giving players more sustainable energy, health and ammo systems seems a better design than hot-keying pads). This discussion is about rewards not about content. It could even get more varied just from the base where say eximus enemies take significantly reduced damage from all but one damage type that can be reset with void damage (like a mini profit taker mechanic so we actually use MORE THAN ONE WEAPON/element to be efficient or prepare with team-play). In fact! I agree that steel path is not that challenging content and DE has explicitly stated it is not intended to be that content. This is intended for MR13-MR20ish players that should have the capacity to actually complete this but still have not done EVERYTHING already and still have a long way to go before they have done everything. What I wish they would do is take a look at their AI, because at this point a lvl 100 enemy dies just the same as a lvl 1 enemy, just slower. You can claim your Zaw Riven Mod in the Steel Path Honors! My theory is this is part of the reason Void Towers went away, some people complained because others got more rewards for their keys, and warframe has been in a downward spiral since because of the same complaints. It's basically a dead game mode. The Steel Path missions have the following modifiers: The enemies on these nodes are quite tough, so expect a long clear time that you are used to. Without proper preparation, you'll end up giving people level 180 base content at the hardest difficulty then say go back to doing level 60 arbitrations when they're finished. Archwing enemies have +50 levels but no modifiers. Do you want to run the mission with level eight enemies or level one hundred enemies(or whatever level they decide upon)? I am right there with you in wanting more challenging content 100% and I am not suggesting you are apathetic towards wanting challenging content. If they make the rewards potatoes, I'll do it no matter how painful it is. Just because I don't need rewards for content that isn't totally trivial. Simply put, these rewards are underwhelming. DE does need to give people an incentive to do the new hardmode. I also stated decorations are fine with me. Hopefully down the line they take a look at scaling enemy AI and improving on the enemy combat, because this mode could also be a perfect testing ground for harder, smarter enemies. If they realise that tons of players like the new mode, and people even coming back just to play Warframe again, they could change that "intended to be associated with the nebulous endgame topic" Rule and even build the Steelpatch further to get to an Endgame experience. To purchase rewards from Teshin, you will need to earn Steel Essence. I am saying you are apathetic towards the REWARDS for that content. Publisher and developer Digital Extremes has announced that Warframe is getting a new game mode called The Steel Path.. Intended as Warframe's hard mode, only "Tenno who have proven themselves" will have access to the mode once it launches.. I agree they shouldn't nerf it and I don't think they should make anything exclusive to the steel path because that is what will cause people to whine about it because they can't get X, Y, or Z because they cannot complete a level 130 interception mission solo. This also leads to greater rewards. Just over 1000 Tenno will be playing these changes over the weekend for practical feedback. I already stated that decorations suit me fine. I wouldn't be opposed if they gave certain nodes rare drop chances for things like potatoes, exilus addapters, aura forma, legendary cores, riven slivers, etc. Also what about, -since they are all elite enemies- making every single enemy drop just a small amount of Kuva? There’s only two reasons to do it: Mastery and Steel Essence, which can be traded in to Teshin for various rewards. The Steel Path will feature Teshin, who lots of of you may know from the Conclave. Now, you're thinking "that's just stupid. With this Update, we are introducing ‘The Steel Path… Well, what about putting ALL of the potential rewards in the game mode? Sentient Drone: Requires void damage (Amp) to destroy (Don't even get me started on Operator/amp progression or lack thereof). if they do this.. then this time i REAAAAALY hope they dont go back on their word and actually make it NO REVIVES period not even from other team mates. Here are a few ideas: There are other rewards that could go here, like new weapons, mods, kitgun/zaw blueprints, arcanes, but I feel that The Steel Path should stay away from locking gameplay changing rewards behind its mode. PS. You'd just be clearing the star chart....non-stop...enemy level tends to only matter in situations where players HAVE to kill them like disruption. That still doesn't mean I shouldn't get better rewards for doing a level 130 interception than I do for a level 30 interception. I do not know how to make it clear that content is not the same as rewards. Give the players reason to do longer runs in the more difficult mode. May as well just give 4 modes where the last one just puts them at level cap and call it a day. Warframe's next big expansion, Heart of Deimos, will be unveiled later this week at Tennocon 2020 (which we'll be covering), but the game is also getting a new "Steel Path" mode which players can jump into now. The reason Im writing this is because I believe The Steel Path in its current proposed state is wasted potential, and I don't want to see another mode thrown to the wayside after a few weeks. Then the rare boss spawns could be guaranteed and more frequent in the harder missions: G3, Zanuka, Stalker, Juggernaut etc. The desire for challenge is not really what is being discussed here tho. You and I are on the same side when it comes to the issue YOU and only you are arguing about here. I’m glad it’s over, but I feel I have a lot to talk about. Personally what I'd love to see DE do with the rewards for hard mode is kinda what @Brozime said in his latest video and basically rework some of the nodes in the star chart into "Loot caves" for specific things. Maybe DE doesn't know what you want because you cannot keep on consistent narrative over the span of a single paragraph. From what I can tell from your previous post there is nothing other than MAYBE umbra forma. If I am off base on then then please explain what would be a reward you would want from any sort of content that is not purely cosmetic? If it was! Just remove the affinity, I can already hear nerf cries from youtubers. The Steel Path is designed to skip the 30-40 min wait for enemies to get to their higher level, and what Im suggesting is that the rewards should also reflect that 30-40 min jump. However, the proposed "Hard Mode" is missing the + in New Game+. I am right there with you on wanting something that is more challenging but we all know it will take a lot more than a level bump of literally any amount to create that challenge. Steel Essence is primarily used for trading in for rewards to a certain NPC. I say Imagine if they added a variety of arbitration drones to the spawn system of all hard missions: @Nichivo Ok so all you are saying is that literally no reward will ever be enough incentive for you but also at the same time ANY reward will be enough incentive for you because you've played thousands of hours past the point where any sort of reward means anything to you. There's a lot of discussion on what rewards everyone would like to see and why. They all just expected infinite numbers of resurrections, so since none of them wanted to improve their gameplay. The Origin System is ever-changing. I think it would be worse if a player asked themself 10 mins in "Why am I doing a lvl 140 mission when I could get the same thing doing a lvl 40 mission?". Which is why my original post said that things like new mods, weapons, and other non cosmetic exclusives should not be in the Steel Path. The Steel Path is an upcoming hard mode in Digital Extremes’ space ninja simulator Warframe. Aside from chewing through its (prodigious quantity of) health, there is little in the way of strategy to the overall battle; simply follow the Golem, get into an angle where the engines are vulnerable, and shoot, while avoiding the arguably more dangerous su… Similar to how it gets us to lvl 100 faster. @Nichivo Wanting content and wanting appropriate rewards for completing that content are not the same thing. I am stating again you are wrong. The Steel Path gives you access to a new, tougher Star Chart in Warframe. To increase Mastery Rank, a player must earn Mastery Points through the following methods: 1. As it stands, the enemies aren't even level 100, they're level 100 with sortie modifiers, which probably makes them closer to like level "2-400". I kind of feel like, aside from specific rewards, an easy thing to make Steel Path unique in rewards is having every node (at least on a planet) dedicated to a specific resource or reward. Warframe's The Steel Path mode is out now on all platforms. So, a type of hard-ish mode is coming out for the game soon. Head on over to the star chart and select the new side tab and switch over to the Steel path setting. I just think there could be something for everyone. This forum is full of me arguing to the contrary. You are totally allowed to have your opinion but personally I have a hard time sympathizing with the opinion when it basically boils down to complete apathy and any sort of meaningful reward to you is conceptually impossible. The simple fact of the matter here is that there is NOTHING that DE can throw at an MR28-29 that will keep them invested for a significant amount of time out side of adding another new grind like focus to the game and even that will not keep them busy long enough for them to feel like there isn't a content drought. Maybe DE doesn't know what you want because you cannot keep on consistent narrative over the span of a single paragraph. Effectively, this was content of higher difficulty, but rewards you with decorations, emotes, and mastery. Higher base resource-credit gains based on difficulty. Maybe it could reward fish parts and gems as well, for a higher price, so that you could get those this way passively, just playing hard mode, but fishing and mining would still be the optimal acquiring method.
