There are some parts of the BPS mechanism that are very tight and tape might bind them up. When you assemble the gun the shell lift goes in first. The ejector may be a spring loaded plunger in the bolt, or a solid piece attached to or integral with the receiver. That would indicate the shell lift is not seated right. The reason he uses the tape is because there are two pieces that have to be pushed against the wall for the trigger assembly to be pushed in but the only way he can find to push them apart and slide in the trigger assembly is using the tape to hold the pieces against the wall.
